Transforming the Traditional Farm House

Located in South Boardman, this original farmhouse has been in the client’s family for four generations since the early 1900s. The original style and features of the home were preserved and replicated in this comprehensive remodel. A color palette of white, black and brown wood tones stays true to the traditional farmhouse style. The biggest challenge of the project was ensuring the new design didn’t complete with the original features of the space. We wanted to maintain the integrity of the original windows, plaster subway wainscoting and gorgeous woodwork. The kitchen was intentionally planned to feel original while incorporating new cabinetry and appliances. Other modern updates to the home include transforming the sunroom porch into a functional mudroom, adding a walk-in shower to the main floor bath and transforming the attic into a master suite.
